Piano Marathon: 12-hours of non-stop piano-playing World’s leading piano maker launches new community outreach programme with a piano marathon for charity

The world’s leading piano maker, Steinway & Sons, will score a first in Asia this December with the launch of a new community outreach programme that will see a 12-hour music marathon for charity.

Called Piano Marathon 2017 @ ION Orchard, the event is scheduled to be held on 16 December at Singapore’s iconic shopping mall ION Orchard Level 1 Atrium. It aims to reach out to over 500 participants from all ages and all walks of life to provide 12 hours of continuous piano music. Nett proceeds from funds raised for the event will be donated to The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) that provides arts training to children and youths from financially disadvantaged families.

Thrice a Charm: Yu Neng Primary School Pays It Forward with Tote-ally Eco Friendly Project

For a third year running, a local primary school and its supporting community will come together to raise funds for students in need.

Yu Neng Primary School (YNPS) will be creating 1,324 eco tote bags featuring an owl motif with hand-sewn eyes, that will be distributed to the public whose donations for the bag will go towards raising funds for ChildAid, an annual charity concert in aid of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF) and The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF).

Leading Childcare Educator Celebrates Children’s Day with A Good Deed To Charity

Leading Singapore childhood educator, Patricia Koh brought cheer to 200 beneficiaries yesterday with a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative through her childcare chain, MapleBear Singapore on Children’s Day.

In celebration of Children’s Day and in the spirit of giving back to the community, Koh’s childcare chain, MapleBear Singapore – developed from a Canadian based early learning programme – demonstrated its generosity with a treat for beneficiaries of the Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) at Resorts World Sentosa. This is MapleBear Singapore’s first CSR outreach to financially disadvantaged families with young children in Singapore. Net proceeds from the event are donated to the BT BAF.

Childaid Benefits from UOB and Yu Neng Primary School’s Fundraising Efforts

A key Singapore children’s charity event will be receiving a strong boost with a generous donation from United Overseas Bank (UOB) and a heartfelt initiative from Yu Neng Primary School.

UOB donates $800,000 to The Business Times Budding Artists Fund and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

UOB is donating $300,000 to The Business Times Budding Artists Fund under the annual children charity concert ChildAid.

Yu Neng Primary’s beary-thoughtful gift for less-privileged peers

To commemorate its 80th anniversary and Singapore’s Golden Jubilee this year, pupils of Yu Neng Primary School will give back to the community, one stitch at a time. More than 1200 pupils, staff and parent-volunteers will be hand-making 1,200 fabric bears on August 3 as part of its values-in-action-education programme and fundraising effort called, Pay-It-Forward SG50 Bears.

Leading integrated logistics solutions provider, Cogent Holdings Limited (“Cogent”, together with its subsidiaries, “the group”), will be donating $110,000 in support of the Pay-It-Forward initiative.
