Singapore – Join us for an unforgettable evening of exceptional music and heartfelt giving as the Spirit of Giving concert series returns with its second edition, featuring Incurably Romantic headlined by award-winning Singaporean tenor Corey Koh. Following the success of the inaugural 2023 concert, which starred West End performer Nathania Ong, this year’s concert promises to continue the series’ tradition of blending music with philanthropy.
Taking place on 10 December 2024 at 7:30 PM at the Singtel Waterfront Theatre, Esplanade, the event will showcase Corey Koh’s artistic journey, transitioning from classical to pop music, while supporting a cause close to his heart.
About Spirit of Giving
Spirit of Giving is an annual charity fundraising concert series organised by TRCL and produced by Global Cultural Alliance (GCA). The series platforms young Singaporean musicians based abroad, bringing them back to perform for local audiences. Nett proceeds from the concert are donated to the Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF), which supports underserved children and youth by making arts education more accessible. This year’s concert, headlined by Corey Koh, aims to spread joy and hope through music, helping underserved families in Singapore.
Corey Koh: Classical Prodigy Turned Pop Sensation
At just 22, Corey Koh has established himself as one of Singapore’s rising vocal talents. He made his mark on the classical music scene, performing at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall, Suntory Hall, and Musikverein. Corey is now embarking on a new chapter, launching his pop music career with his debut single, Only Love, co-written with Singaporean singer-songwriter Lewis Loh, which has garnered over 225k views on YouTube.
His musical evolution continues with the release of his highly anticipated EP “Places” in November 2024, adding depth to his concert performance. Corey’s versatility as an artist is supported by his classical training, but his passion transcends genres. He stated, “I love all kinds of music… genre barriers are quite artificial in nature.”
Concert Highlights
The evening will showcase Corey Koh’s latest single “Incurably Romantic”, selections from his EP “Places”, and performances in multiple languages, including Mandarin, Italian, English, and Japanese. The concert will feature accomplished conductor Kelvin Loh from Malaysia, leading a talented band.
