Children for Children (CFC) is an annual fundraising and outreach event held in conjunction with Children’s Day. Jointly organised by The Business Times, CHIJ (Kellock) Primary School, Resorts World Sentosa and The RICE Company Limited, CFC brings children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds to one of Singapore’s iconic attractions to celebrate Children’s Day.
This year marks CFC’s 11th edition and we will bring 1,000 underprivileged children from over 50 schools across Singapore to enjoy a fun-filled day at the S.E.A Aquarium and The Maritime Experiential Museum in Resorts World Sentosa on 3 Oct 2019. CFC is also a fundraiser for The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) which fully sponsors the arts training of children and youth between the ages of six to 19 from low income families.
In celebration of Singapore’s Bicentennial, the theme for CFC 2019 is Our Home, Our Singapore. A special musical performance will be staged by the students of CHIJ (Kellock) to celebrate the values of resilience and perseverance, and share how each has a part to play in our nation’s achievements and in moulding the future of Singapore.
A special lesson package have been crafted for pupils to experience the Singapore story. The lesson highlights some significant historical moments of Singapore, getting pupils to appreciate what Singapore has achieved and finally inspire all to play their part in the future of Singapore’s nation-building. The lesson ends with pupils having to design the futuristic Singapore they wish to see and to do a reflection based on their design.
Stay tuned for the exciting and wonderful works from the children!
