Mr Alvin Tay, editor of The Business Times, was introduced to the Budding Artist Fund in early 2005. And like the Arts House, The Business Times also believes that every child with artistic talent should be given the opportunity to develop that talent, regardless of his or her family's financial background. Upon the invitation by The Arts House for The Business Times to adopt the Budding Artists Fund, Mr Tay readily agreed. The Fund was henceforth called ‘The Business Times Budding Artists Fund’, and was launched on 11 May 2005.
The Official Launch of the Business Times Budding Artist Fund
The Business Times and the Arts House share a common belief that every artistically gifted child in Singapore should be given the opportunity to develop that talent regardless of his/her own special needs and family's financial background.
To realise this vision, the BT Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) was initiated to level up the playing field for the less privileged but no less artistically talented children.
