CFC 2013

More than 1,200 children under the Ministry of Education’s Financial Assistance Scheme were invited to celebrate Children’s Day at the Universal Studios Singapore® (USS) at this year’s edition of Children For Children.

Children from across 64 schools arrived bright and early at USS and took on the role of space venturers. This year, the children will travel to planet TransformAct.
As soon as they entered USS, the children were greeted by pupils from CHIJ (Kellock), who warmly welcomed them and entertained them with craft activities. Using unwanted materials, the children learned how to recycle these materials and turn them into beautiful frames. Some of the children were also fortunate to have Mr Lawrence Wong, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information, join them in the craft activities.

Soon, the children were ushered into the Pantages Hollywood Theatre™. Performers from CHIJ (Kellock) treated the children to a dance and theatre play. The children learned that by being kind to each other and to the environment, they could make tomorrow a better place to live in.

This year’s Children For Children also saw the launch of a children adventure book. Titled, Making A Difference, The Children For Children Story, it tells the tale of two children traveling through time to experience all five adventurous years of Children For Children.

After the book launch and cheque presentation, the children were all very excited to begin their adventure in Universal Studios Singapore®.
