Children For Children, is an annual community event held in conjunction with Children’s Day. It was initiated in 2008 and is jointly organised by CHIJ (Kellock), The Arts House and The Business Times. Every year, in this event, children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds will celebrate Children’s Day at one of Singapore’s iconic attractions.
Pupils from CHIJ (Kellock) play host to 1,000 or more of their less privileged peers and regale them with performances and arts and craft activities. This makes Children For Children a more meaningful initiative with children helping children.
Children For Children is also a fundraising initiative for two children funds: The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF).
With corporations coming on board to volunteer and donate towards this cause, Children For Children encapsulates the virtuous cycle of giving and sharing between the larger community and the underprivileged.
